Peverley Signed through 2014-15

Rich Peverley has signed a three year contract extension. He was acquired from The Atlanta Thrashers, now the Winnepeg Jets, last year for Blake Wheeler and Mark Stuart. He has not missed a game in the last two seasons, knocking on wood, and leads the team with 2 goals in this young season. A grinder, energy guy, penalty killer with good speed and a touch of offensive flair. Glad to see Rich will be around for a while.

  1. This is good to see, it's nice that the organization is standing behind the team that took several years to build and keep these guys around.
How do you feel Krejci being out and Seguin moving into his spot will affect that line and tonights game?

  2. First off, I never want to see a guy like David go down with an injury. he is such an intrical part of this team. Luckily, it appears to be a day to day issue not related to his knee problem from last year. If there is a positive for this team it is the fact that the center position is the position they are most rich at. Bergeron and Campbell will stay with their lines. Seguin will move in to line 1 and I believe Jordan Caron will come out of the sky box and skate center with that 3rd line. It is easy to forget that the Bruins have converted Kelly to a winger, but he was a centerman with Ottawa. Pev's can also play center as well as Nathan Horton. I think this could be the spark that first line needs, as they are looking very stale. Tyler is faster than Krecji and I would say their passing is a wash. Where Krecji is still better is with his patience and letting plays develop. That being said, I still think Boston beats Carolina tonight 3-1 and Krecji is back with the team in chicago on Saturday.

  3. I am sure Seguin will certainly bring a new energy to this line that has been missing in the first 3 games. Seguin has been throwing his new found weight around and challenges the other team. I love watching him hang back and harass his opponents making them earn their run down the ice. I worry though that they have not had enough time to gel and be an effective unit, but it can't be any worse than what has already being going on in that line. Looking forward to see it all play out tonight.
